Dear Family
and Friends,
“A father of the fatherless…God setteth the solitary in families…” - Psalms 68:5,6
As you know
we have felt called and directed by God to adopt another “fatherless” child
into our family.
We are adopting
a little boy from China which Vickie met while working in Zhanjiang Orphanage
in 2008. He has a very serious heart
condition, and received his first open heart surgery in Shanghai, China in
2011. He will require another open heart
surgery once he comes home to the US. Our
new son’s name will be Abraham Haiqing!
Some of you
are probably wondering what has prompted us to adopt again. Well, primarily, we’ve felt clearly directed
by God that we were to adopt Abraham to be a part of our family and we knew we
needed to obey Him.
The biggest
challenge for us is not opening our hearts and home to another child, but it is
in finding the finances to make this happen. We estimate our total cost for
adoption fees, document preparation, home study, airfare, travel, attorney
fees, etc. to be $30,000 - that’s certainly money we don’t have, but we know
God is faithful and is leading us to trust Him.
By God’s
grace we’ve been able to raise almost the entire amount and we are down to our
last $5,000 needed before we travel next month.
Honestly,
it’s a little difficult to make our need known to the Body of Christ around us,
but we also know it’s very Biblical to do so.
We appreciate your friendship very much and would like you to pray and
consider helping us in our adoption.
There are two ways you can help:
1. Prayer – Please pray God would tenderly
care for Abraham and his health in China until we are able to bring him home,
that God would prepare Austin, Anagrace and Amelia for the upcoming changes to
our family, and that God will give us wisdom, discernment, and insight as we
raise Abraham to know Jesus Christ.

Financial support -
Will you consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us pay the remaining
$5,000 in adoption expenses, to bring Abraham home?
Lancaster
Vineyard Church and Lifesong (www.lifesongfororphans.org)
has graciously given a Matching Grant of $2,250 to meet the needs of this
remaining amount. This means that for
every dollar donated, it will be matched dollar for dollar up to $2,250.
If you would

tax-deductible gift between now and November 21st to the
address below. Lifesong is a trusted organization administering the funds on
Abraham’s behalf, and will pay adoption expenses out of funds received.
